Although a native New Yorker, Jason got his real start in South
Florida where he grew up. Jason learned his craft recording
his own and other local bands. In 1995 he returned to New York
and worked his way up through the ranks at several NYC studios,
landing at Dubway in 1999. Now a seasoned professional, Jason
has some of the biggest names in the industry on his list of
credits.
Specializing in Live recordings, he has been chief engineer
for over 200 recordings for MTV Networks. Recording & mixing
(stereo & 5.1 Surround Sound) television concert specials for
Lenny Kravitz, Erykah Badu, Wyclef Jean, The Artic Monkeys,
Beck, The White Stripes, & Alanis Morrisette, (to name a few),
for such shows as Unplugged, VH1 Soul's SoulStage,
Discover & Download, and Live@VH1.com. He also
is the recording/mixing engineer for the iTunes Live from
Soho series, featuring exclusive releases from many artists,
amongst them Gnarls Barkley, Counting Crows, Dave Gahan, Taylor
Swift, and Kings of Leon.
In the studio he has worked with Angelo Badalamenti, Deborah
Harry, Moby, Chris Thile, Bebel Gilberto, Scott Hardkiss & many
many more. He also has engineered on two Grammy nominated releases,
James Cotton's Baby, Don't You Tear My Clothes, and Tony
Trischka's Double Banjo Spectacular.
Keith
Rigling, Studio Engineer
Originally from Cincinnati, OH, Keith found his way to New York
City in 2003 and started out at Dubway as an intern. He was
quickly promoted to Production Assistant for The Backyardigans,
a children's television show in production at Dubway with Nick
Jr., and has since been promoted to Engineer where he records,
edits, and mixes the majority of the show's production audio.
In addition, Keith engineers a variety of projects that come
through Dubway, including bands, film and TV scoring, and other
work.
As a freelancer, he is a composer and a sound designer with
clients that include Audi, Volkswagen, and Nokia.
Keith graduated from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications
at Syracuse University, with a Major in Television/Radio/Film
and a dual-minor in Music Industry and Psychology.
Chris
Abell, Studio Engineer
Raised in coastal Virginia, Chris relocated to NYC after graduating
from Full Sail University. Since joining the Dubway team in
2005, He has created an impressive resume for himself.
As an engineer, Chris has worked with such talent as Grammy
winning producer Russ Titelman, and Tony-award winner Christine
Ebersole, as well as Grey's Anatomy star Sara Ramirez.
Chris has recorded live sessions with Lenny Kravitz, Sara
Bareilles, and Daniel Merriweather, to name a few.
Chris has produced albums for New York artists Oli Rockberger,
Patrick Degennaro, and Cariad Harmon as well as indie rock
acts The Demon Beat and Life Size Maps.
Eric
Spring, Studio Engineer
Eric grew up in Charlotte, NC and attended school in Raleigh.
His parents are both classically trained violinists, which is
what contributed to his early appreciation for the arts and
his own interest in learning the guitar.
Opting out of a path in law school, Eric instead chose to become
a recording engineer and pursue a life in New York centered
around working with artists and musicians. A Full Sail graduate,
Eric has engineered on numerous projects at Dubway including
Live@VH1 and does live sound in the New York City club
scene.
Eric has a wide variety of musical interests which continues
to expand to this day, and when he has spare time he plays a
mean classical guitar.
Mike
Judeh, Studio Engineer
A native of Brooklyn, New York, Mike has been part of the
New York music scene as a Producer, Engineer, and Musician
for over 10 years. Mike quickly rose the Dubway ladder and
currently works with some of our biggest clients including
Apple iTunes "Live From Soho" series, Universal Music Group,
Verve Records, "Live From The Artist Den", and Limewire's
"Live at Lime" Series, as well as a multitude of independent
recording artists.
Mike's musical tastes are as varied as his engineering skills
and he's always willing to try something twice in the studio.
He's clocked countless hours tracking, mixing, and mastering
various artists & bands, as well as touring around the world
with Danish psychedelic soul act "The Asteroids Galaxy Tour"
handling front of house engineer duties. In addition to engineering,
Mike is a first-rate guitar player and gig's locally whenever
he has the chance.
Stephen
Schappler, Studio Engineer
Stephen Schappler grew up in Indiana and Texas and went to the
Indiana University Jacobs School of Music.
He is a classically trained clarinetist, and has been playing
clarinet and saxophone since childhood. He graduated with a
Bachelor of Science in Recording Arts, and cut his teeth recording
famous classical figures including violinist Joshua Bell, conductor
Leonard Slatkin, and the Beaux Arts trio.
After graduation he moved to NYC and interned at Electric Lady
Land Studios, followed by an internship at Dubway. Stephen has
a love for all kinds of music, and is also interested in new
media and video game audio. He also edits audio books for Random
House on the side. Some notable recents include: Audition
(Barbara Walters) and Change We Can Believe In (Barack
Obama).
Chris
Camilleri, Studio Engineer
Growing up in Minnesota, Chris spent much of his time in studios
drumming on rock and jazz records. He moved out east in the
fall of 2003 to pursue his love for music at Boston College,
where he also studied premedical sciences and philosophy.
A growing appreciation for recording technology and music
production led him to NYU where he earned his master's degree
in Music Technology.
After several formative internships in Boston and New York,
Chris landed at Dubway early in 2009 and was soon engineering
for major label artists. He continues to grow his already
notable resume on a daily basis. Chris also freelances in
Manhattan and Brooklyn, focusing on pop production and mixing.
Jeff
Formosa, Sound Designer/Mixer
Jeff Formosa brings a wealth of TV/Film sound design & mixing
experience to Dubway Studios. Jeff made a name for himself in
the sound design industry through his work on the hit TV series,
Ace Ventura: Pet Detective (1996), Yugioh! (2003),
and most recently, Winx Club (2004), which led to his
success in the films Last Party 2000 (2001), and Anne
B. Real (2003). His skills as sound editing/mixing supervisor
are revealed in Swimming, a film by Robert J. Siegel
(2000), Barry Alexander Brown's Winning Girls Through Psychic
Mind Control (2002) and a comedy by Jeff Daniels, Super
Sucker (2002). Jeff has done sound design on over 30 films
and on hundreds of animations.
